The (Not So) Secret History of My Book Purchases

I may have been on a little bit of a book buying spree over the past few days… As much as I am enjoying We Need To Talk About Kevin, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared for when I finish it…

This one has been on my radar for awhile, partly for the cover, partly because of my love for Russian history!

I didn’t actually buy this one (gasp!) – it was gifted to me by two dear friends!

I read this years ago when I was part of a school book club, and so happened to be studying classical studies! I found it in a charity shop (along with these brogues) and figured a re-read was in order.

This one has been on my mind ever since I first spotted it, told myself I’d be good, and didn’t buy it. I have been looking for it ever since and just so happened to see it out of the corner of my eye in Waterstones earlier…

I must confess this one was an impulse buy – but having read the premise I couldn’t get it out of my head as I went round the shop, so I had to get a copy! Normally I don’t buy hardback books but there was no way I was waiting until October to read this one!
